We understand that your privacy is important to you. This policy explains how UniTaskr collects, uses, and protects the personal data you share with us through our app and website. Please read it carefully — nothing here limits your legal rights.
Definitions
Buyer
A user who uses the UniTaskr platform to purchase services.
Seller
A student who sells services through the UniTaskr App by accepting tasks.
Users
Buyers, Sellers, and anyone who uses the UniTaskr App or visits the UniTaskr Website.
Post a Task
When a Buyer sends out a job that appears on students' "Jobs Available" list.
Request
A request for services made by a Buyer to a Seller on the UniTaskr App.
Profile
Your personal profile containing details such as your photograph and name, viewable by other users.
Service(s)
Any tasks, help, assistance, training or services offered by a Seller or requested by a Buyer, including cleaning, maintenance, cooking, gardening, hairdressing, fitness, technology help, tutoring, language assistance, and more.
Scope
This policy applies to your use of the UniTaskr App (once downloaded onto your device) and the UniTaskr Website — together referred to as the Platform.
For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is:

Data We Collect
Personal Contact Details
We collect information such as your name, username, telephone number, email address, gender, age, date of birth, country of residence, and profile picture when you:

- —Update your settings and preferences
- —Fill in any forms on the Platform
- —Post a task, accept a job, or confirm a booking
- —Send or receive messages from another User
- —Respond to our direct marketing activities
- —Correspond with us by post, email, or via the App
- —Report a problem or make a complaint
- —Your account or content is reported by another user
Automatically Collected Data
Each time you visit the Platform we may automatically collect:
- —Technical information: device type, unique device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address), mobile number
- —Network information: mobile OS, browser type, time zone, IP address
- —Content stored on your device including contact and login information
- —Log data: traffic data, weblogs, communication data, resources accessed
- —Third-party information from business partners, analytics providers, credit reference agencies, etc.
- —Unique application numbers on install, uninstall, or update
Age Restriction
Our Platform may only be used by individuals aged 16 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 16. If you believe your child has registered, please contact us at help@UniTaskr.com.
How We Use It
We use your data for the following purposes:
Message content is treated as private. We may review it only where it forms the subject of a complaint, in accordance with our Terms of Service. Messages are stored to deliver them to recipients and restore histories in the event of technical issues.
We may combine categories of information and will treat the combined result as personal data for as long as it remains combined.
Disclosure
We do not disclose your information to third parties for direct marketing without your permission, and we never share identifiable individual information with advertisers. We may provide anonymised aggregate statistics (e.g. "1,000 women clicked this ad today").
We may share your data with:
- —Third-party service providers (e.g. IT support) contracted to help supply or maintain the Platform — bound by our instructions
- —Our employees, officers, agents, suppliers and sub-contractors as reasonably necessary
- —Our group companies (subsidiaries, holding companies) as defined under the UK Companies Act 2006
- —Law enforcement or courts where legally required, or to a user's university or college where reasonable
- —Third parties for fraud protection or to enforce our terms
- —The ODR Platform / EU Commission if a dispute is referred there
- —Prospective buyers or sellers of our business or assets
We may also use your mobile number and email to send you alerts about tasks or messages, or to advertise third-party partners' products or services. We will never give your phone number or email to those third parties directly.
The period of use of your information will not be longer than we deem necessary, but may be unlimited where legally required.
Storage
All information you provide is stored on secure servers in the UK or European Economic Area.
Payment transactions are handled by Stripe — we do not store any financial information ourselves. If you save your card through Stripe, UniTaskr stores only an access token linked to your payment method for future purchases. You can read Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Security notice
The transmission of data over the internet is not completely secure. While we take every reasonable measure to protect your personal data, any transmission is at your own risk. Once received, we use adequate procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access.
We may collect and store personal data on your device using application data caches, browser web storage (including HTML5), and other technology.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will inform you before collecting your data if we intend to use it for marketing or share it with any third party for that purpose.

Deletion & Consent
Uninstalling the app
Simply uninstalling the UniTaskr App from your device does not delete your account. You must deactivate it manually in the app's settings, or email help@UniTaskr.com to request manual deactivation.
After account deletion
Your information will not be automatically deleted from our servers. We may retain it for at least one year to comply with legal obligations, using it only to the extent necessary during that period.
Amending information
Optional profile content (such as your photograph) can be amended in the Settings menu of the UniTaskr App. Some information — like your email address — is mandatory and cannot be removed without closing your account.
Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. This will require deletion of your account and will prevent you from using the Platform, including sending and receiving messages.
Third-Party Sites
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. These sites have their own privacy policies and we accept no responsibility or liability for them. Please check those policies before submitting any personal data to those sites.

Access to Information
The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to access information held about you. Any access request is subject to a fee of £10 to cover our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold.
Opt-in / Opt-out
You are automatically opted in to our emails when you sign up. These typically include recent jobs on the platform, weekly updates, and company news.
To opt out, press Unsubscribe at the bottom of any email. This will remove you from our database and prevent future marketing emails, in line with GDPR. You can also cancel your account by contacting help@UniTaskr.com.
If you opt in, we may occasionally send you information about special events, promotions, contests, and programmes. We may still be required to send you transactional or service-related emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Accessing & Editing Personal Info
UniTaskr believes strongly in giving you the ability to access and edit your information. Visit My Account in the bottom navigation bar of the app to view, update, and edit your account information. There is no limit to how many times you can update your settings, but you must be logged in to do so.
If you need to change information that isn't accessible through the app, contact us at privacy@UniTaskr.com and we'll explain how to access and change it.
Changes to This Policy
Any future changes to this privacy policy will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by email or when you next start the UniTaskr App or visit the Website. Updated terms may be displayed on-screen and you may be required to read and accept them to continue using the Platform.
